Upcoming Regattas and Races
Greetings from the “HMIC”
I’ve put together 5 Sundays for this fall that I think
will work based on tides and or holidays . If anyone can see where I missed
something please get back to me asap, otherwise we’ll go with this
schedule. I haven’t sch any committee boat duties for the race days as we
need all the boats on the start line we can get but if Peter and or Brad can’t
make it then we’ll have to make alternate arrangements for those days (
ie: send a person from one of the race boats out with the committee boat to
help setup and then have that person get back on their Cal-20 for the races ) hopefully
this won’t be necessary.
RACE DATES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
SEPT 14th, SEPT 28th, OCT
19th, OCT 26th, and NOV 9th
It seemed like most if not everyone was in favor of
supporting the National Cal-20 organization so I’m going to ask John
Goffe to collect for National as well as our Fleet 38 dues. Skipper AND
crew please if you can manage it.
As this will be the” inaugural” season for the
Janet Stamper Memorial series ( replacing the Bill Brassington ) let’s
all make a special effort to try and be on the line for every Sunday of racing.
As a side note, there are at least 3 boats sitting up in the yard that are not
being used ( Saga, Radical and Tyranical ) so we should all be on the lookout
for prospective new members . Wouldn’t it be great to have 9 boats on the
start line instead of just 5 or 6 ?
This will be my 4th year at the helm of Fleet 38
so I’m giving formal notice that it’s time for someone else to take
a turn starting a year from now, so give some thought and let’s have
someone else step forward and take over.
